Could this be my dream job?

A lot of time has passed since I sent out my first query emails. More than enough to get responses. I counted the rejections the other day, and came to a total of thirty-one. Not bad, except I sent fifty-three of them. turns out a a chunk of people never sent back a rejection, either formal or informal. I went online and decided to research what to do. Do I call? Do I send another query? The answer is yes, send another one if you haven't heard anything in two weeks. In other words, if I don't hear back from someone, send them another one two weeks after I sent the first. Repeat this process until they respond. In my eyes, that means its standard industry practice to annoy someone into paying attention to you.

Be still my heart! As some of my friends will tell you, that makes it a perfect job for me! I'm naturally annoying. In most cases that's a hindrance (bars, socializing, getting any other job). Here, its a necessary skill! Maybe I have found my career choice after all. The only downside I can see is, eventually I will become famous. That doesn't sound like a downside, but then you aren't annoying.

Book two is now being written in a way I can only describe as schizophrenically. I am actually writing the chapters based around the twist first then going in to fill in the main plot. Since I am only about twenty percent done at this point, I honestly don't know if it's going to make sense at the end of my first draft. It should be an interesting experience.

In non-book related news; I am getting fed up with political adverts. It's insane! I am going to Netflix more and more (I highly reccomend that service) just because I can see a show without having to sit through thirty seconds of someone bad mouthing someone else in order to get elected. There is simply no way to make a reasoned politcal argument in thirty seconds, so all the ads I see are attack ads. Again, I don't mind that, but there comes a point when I just becomes overload, and you pray for elections to get here just so the commercials would end. Sure these canidates could spend their money on something more worthwhile, like... I dunno, fixing the government?

In a realted note, bailouts don't work. As a government, you don't create opportunity by borrowing against the future, you create opportunity by getting out of the way of the people who can. It worked under Kennedy and Reagan (and how many policies do those two have in common?). This is why I don't like Obama's policies. This is also the reason I am libertarian and not a democrat or liberal. They have, frankly, monumentally stupid ideas sometimes. Bailouts are among them. Republicans also favored that stupid idea too, which is why I am glad I left that political party many years ago. The Tea party is, frankly, just a bunch of republicans who don't like the current republican party leaders (not that I blame them), so don't be fooled that they are something new. They even recruit out of the same gene pool.

Ahhh, the fall games explosion is unto us, and I find myself obsessing over Fallout: New Vegas. F: NV is so addictive, it's going to stop me from annoying publishers or writing, until I have thoroughly conquered its secrets. Seriously, its like crack in videogame form. It has my highest recommendation and sternest warning.

That's enough for this post, Lunatics. See you next time!
