And the Rejections just keep coming!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Frankly, when your in the middle of writing a major book, you don't really have a lot of time for updates, especially when nothing is happening.

Okay, something is happening. I am getting a lot of rejections. My research on the Internet -yes, I realize that is a foolish thing to say; the Internet isn't exactly known for accuracy- my research indicated that I could expect hundreds of rejections before someone even gets curious enough to ask for the book. Its one thing to read that, its clearly another to experience it. On the plus side, I think I reached my goal of not offending anyone with my query letters. Some of the rejections were very apologetic in tone, far more than one would expect from a form rejection.

Election time is upon us, and I can almost feel the apathy. Personally, I am voting straight Libertarian. That's how I roll. My father comment on that being a waste of a vote. My response to him was that the only vote that is wasted is the one not cast. He didn't find that insightful or amusing. My friends tend not to vote, then complain about the people in office. I used to (when I was Republican) say, "If you didn't vote, you have no right to complain." I know now that the right to complain is part of being American citizen. So yes, if you don't vote, you can still complain about the people in office, just please don't bother me with it.

Its fall, and that means its time for another crop of AAA quality videogame titles and gimmicks. This year sees the launch of two: The Move and the Kinect. Frankly, I rather like the voice command capability of the Kinect over the Move, but the Move will definitely integrate with games better, even though it looks silly. Seriously, it looks like an ice cream sandwich with a tiny ball on top.

Fall TV season has started, and I find myself strangely drawn to The Defenders, $%^& My Dad Says, and No Ordinary Family. Law and Order: LA doesn't seem to be nearly as cool as the original series was. I find myself wishing that someone for L&O classic would be on the series. Instead, we had a meaningless cameo for them on SVU. Dull. I really want to like this show, but it doesn't resonate with me. I'll stick with Law and Order: UK, which starts airing on BBCA this month. You know, considering L&O:UK, Sherlock, and Doctor Who, and I say that BBC is the best TV network around... next to FX (I love Justified).

Keep your fingers crossed for me, fans!

  1. Only 21? Step up, dude. You need a few more hundred.

And the Move seriously just looks like a lollypop. Which makes Tretton's quote in 2006 that "The Wii is a lollipop, we're not in the lollipop business" just that more ironic.
